Care, Learning & Play
The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS). This learning stage continues until the end of Reception year in school. The children are observed and assessed continuously during their time with us and all the information we have gathered regarding their development (their profile) will be passed on to the school or any other settings that your child may move on to. We have close links with local schools to support your child's transition.
Your child will receive high quality care from all members of staff in the room and each child has a 'key worker' who is the main person responsible for their observations and assessments. We keep parents up to date with all aspects of development regarding children's progress at Parents Evenings which are held at the nursery every 4 months. This provides you with the opportunity to meet with your child's Key Worker and discuss their acheivements and next steps. The children also have digital profiles through our assessment App, Evidence Me, which you will be able to access.
Children have access to the outside play areas every day.We recognise the importance of outdoor learning, whatever the weather. We have umbrellas, wellies and puddle suits for rainy day and sunhats and shady nooks for sunny days. There are grassed and hard play areas which allow for a wide range of activities, from bike rides to bug hunts! Children regularly take part in Forest School activities and love to cook on our campfire!
We welcome parents into Nursery for stay and play sessions, and we also have visitors into our setting for 'Rhythm Time' music sessions as well as 'Stretch n Grow' for fun exercise sessions.
